SOC 370 Sociology of Consumer Society (tabled 7-0-0)
Under the catalog description of the course:

1) please delete SOC 370 on line 1 immediately following Course Description and in its place, please include (B) the frequency code.
2) the committee feels the catalog description, as written, is too long and also lacks a statement on concurrent enrollment (as illustrated by example G on p. 21 of the 2007 Curriculum Change Guide). The committee recommends:
(B) Historical roots of consumer society; mechanisms and modes of persuasion; social theories of consumption; social problems of mass consumer society. Prerequisite: SOC 150 or 100 or ANT 102. May be taken concurrently with SOC 150 or 100 or ANT 102. (3 cr, hr.) Category B.
3) first line under Justification of Course Level is unclear.
4) Please remove Presentation Skills Course from under the course title at the top of p. 1 on the attached syllabus.
5) Please cut and paste the revised catalog description into the attached syllabus (please break up COURSE DECRIPTION and OBJECTIVES on p.1 of the attached syllabus; the list that follows appears to be course objectives only).
6) Because this course will be used to satisfy a program requirement, this proposal must accompanied by a Program Alteration Proposal FORM 5 for each program affected.
